A 10-year-old girl from Manipur was referred to Narayana Hospital Guwahati, to the department of Surgical Gastroenterology, with complaints of pain abdomen and jaundice. On evaluation, she was found to have a tumor in her Pancreas. On further investigation, it was found to be a tumor entity called SPEN, which is known to be quite rare in this age group. Her only chance at cure was a complex surgery called Whipple’s procedure. This was performed by lead gastro-onco surgeon Dr Digvijay Sarma and Dr Saikat Mallick. Anesthesia care was provided by Dr Swapnil Verma and the team. The patient had a smooth recovery and was discharged on the 7th Post operative day.
